3 easy steps to unblock your toilet Piping and plumbing fitting

Once upon a time, not so long ago, carpets were the most popular choice for a home. More recently, carpeting has fallen out of favour. Modern homeowners now choose more natural materials such as hardwood floors. This change had also led to an increase in the number of people looking for the perfect rug to add to their home.

What a Rug Can Add to a Room

Natural flooring is used for a number of reasons. It is easy to keep clean and fresh. Under foot it can be cool. The look of a wooden floor can be very appealing, but after a while a little more cosiness is longed for. Rugs come to the rescue and help to make a room feel more welcoming. Rugs can be found in such a wide range of colours, patterns and textures, they can bring an endless range of different feelings to a room.

When choosing a rug it is best to look at the room as a whole. Take into consideration all the other elements. Think of a rug as a piece of art, and pick one that will complement rather than clash.

Different styles and materials

Look at the space where the rug will be used in a holistic way. Consider the sofa, the colour of the walls, the shape of the room and its size. What kind of feel are you wanting to create? A wool rug, in muted colours, will bring a relaxing feel. For a more moody atmosphere, consider a rug with deeper, richer colours. Lots of texture is also going to add to the atmosphere. Hiderugs has some great examples of rugs that will complement wooden floors. Animal skin rugs also add a touch of luxury, but will not be quite as durable as some natural fibres.

Think about where the rug will be placed. Do you want it to be seen in its entirety? If it’s going to be placed where it will be covered up by furniture, a beautifully patterned rug might not be the best buy. A dark coloured rug makes a room feel more intimate. A lighter coloured rug makes a room feel more spacious and won’t be imposing.

The shape of the rug is another feature to consider carefully. Square or rectangular rugs are the more traditional choice. However, round or oval shapes adds a different kind of beauty and softness.

If you’ve got kids then think about durability. As well as looking good, a rug that is going to come under attack from your little darlings, will need to be hard-wearing too.
